WOW Hunter Leveling & Quest Guide

Hunters in world of warcraft are often the defenders of the group they are with. Being an expert in long range weapons, the Hunter is great at pulling foes towards their group to ambush. As a Hunter part of your responsibilities are to be the early warning system for your group. Although the Hunter is unable to heal himself or resurrect himself, the Hunter stays clear of melee combat and is usually at the back of the group being defended by the other players in the group.

Since the Hunter does not partake in melee combat they do not need to keep as much healing potions in their inventory therfore others might ask you to hold things for them. But the Hunter doesn’t just sit in the background. Being the only world of warcraft character that is a master of long range weapons, the Hunter can use Auto Shot to rapidly fire long range weapons. Being able to tame the wild creatures of world of warcraft to fight with the Hunter is a great help to the Hunter when they have to leave the group and play solo.
As a Hunter you might struggle a bit in the begining but you can level up pretty quick and you will always be a welcome addition in any group.
Lets look at some traits of the available Hunter races:
As a Hunter you will want to take your time deciding on what race you wish to be, it will make a difference on how you will play world of warcraft. Whether you prefer Alliance or Horde doesn't make much difference as either one makes for a good Hunter. With the Burning Crusade expansion the draenei race is available to be a Hunter, otherwise you may choose a dwarf or night elf. I personally prefer dwarves as Alliance hunters because of their Gun specialization and Stoneform spell but that certainly doe's not mean dwarves are the only good Hunters. The night elf has the Shadowmeld and Prowl talents which are obvious advantages to being a hunter. Many players consider the night elf to be the best choice for an Alliance Hunter. Depending on your nature of play the draenei can be a excellent Hunter with it's Heroic Presence ability helping the Hunters pets and being able to heal themselves and their pets over time using Gift of the Naaru.

The Horde races are equally effective at being a Hunter.
With their Bow Specialization and Berserker damage per second bonus, the troll makes a fine Hunter. The trolls are very well rounded Hunters as they also have a damage bonus to beasts using Beast Slaying. A unique benefit to the troll Hunter is their ability to replenish health with Restoration. Using the taurens Warstomp skill the Hunter is able to detain its foe's without going hand to hand with them. The orc race Hunter works a little differently, using its Hardness skill to resist an enemies stun attack by 15% and using Command to increase their pets damage by 5%. Finally if you have the Burning Crusade expansion you may choose the blood elf as a Hunter using Arcane Torrent as an effective strike against enemy casters and it also is a fast way to replenish the Hunters mana.
New characters are not very versatile so play within your means. Every character is different and needs to be played differently, the sooner you learn how your character works the better. Whenever possible don't stay in the heat of battle too long and get your character killed. Use range weapons and spells to keep your character out of harms way. Taking on more than one quest at a time will help your character acquire new items and assist in leveling as well. If you think you have completed all the quests in your present area check again to be sure.
